[net.followup] Positional dependent visual enlargment of lunar bodies

richard@sequent.UUCP (02/17/84)

When the aforementioned astronomical object appears misleadingly
engorged, the factors usually causing such swelling can be ascribed
to the incresed magnification effects of the gaseous envelope
surrounding the viewer's planet at the lower visual angles. Be it
noted aswellwise that this phenomena will become more pronounced
under meteorlogical conditions that may alter the density gradient
of the intervening atmospheric substance.
