[bit.listserv.pagemakr] Proof printing & dingbats...

STONEC@IUBACS.BITNET (SO YOU USE PAGEMAKR TOO...) (02/21/90)

Greetings,

Does anyone out in PageMakrland use proof printing on a PC (graphics show
as an X in the box)?

I know it works on PM Mac version... what about PM Pc?

Also, dingbats are still a pain in seeing and placing them. Does anyone
using PM on a PC e Zapf Dingbats? I can't see what I'm doing until I print
them out -- naturally they're never lined up right, which means more wasted
printer time etc. etc.

Thanks in advance -- replies can be sent to me personally and I'll be happy to
summarize for the list.

Cindy Stone mentions not being able to see the Dingbats on the screen
when using PC Pagemaker. I had the same problem originally, but I found
copies of the screen fonts for the Dingbats (I found them on Compuserve)
I downloaded them to my PC and now the Dingbats appear on the screen and
all is well. I wonder if these can be uploaded into the network and
stored in a library for list members to access. Also I am not sure
if there is some law about uploading these items. I can check.

If there is interest I can check into this.....

I'm interested in learning more about downloading the dingbats screen font.

I'm a veteran Mac user but am just starting to explore the PC side and
will gladly take advantage of anything that will make the way easier...

I'd be interested in the screen fonts for Dingbats!!!!!!!!!!!!

We use Pagemaker with an IBM Personal Pageprinter, and they send the
screenfonts for the 47 fonts their printer will print. You just have
to tell windows they are there and then there is no problem having
Pagemaker display them.
