PASCH@DHDIBM1.BITNET (Berthold Pasch +49 (6221) 404-242) (02/01/90)
This is to inform you that automatic routing table generation by NETSERV
will no longer respect subscriptions in the :inform/:info tags of the
node entries in BITEARN NODES file.
Starting in March 1990 NETSERV will only honour routing table
subscriptions done via the :routtab tag in the node entry or via the
NETSERV AFD function (Automatic File Distribution).
In the current BITEARN NODES file (version 9001) I can see that several
nodes have :inform/:info subscriptions for which routing tables may have
been received in the past from NETSERV, but these nodes do not have a
:routtab tag. This means that routing table support by NETSERV will be
stopped unless an appropriate :routtab tag is provided or a subscription
is made via Netserv's AFD function.
Dear country/network coordinators, dear node administrators,
please ensure that the affected node entries will have their correct
:routtab tag for the March 1990 version of BITEARN NODES.
The following is a list of affected node entries together with the
suggested :routtab information (derived from the existing :inform/:info
subscription):
:node.CANADA01 :routtab.RSCS V2 (NETSERV,TED@CANADA01)
:node.HKUCC :routtab.JNET (NETSERV,HCXCLTS@HKUCC)
:node.HKUJNT :routtab.JNET (NETSERV,HCXCLTS@HKUJNT)
:node.HKUVM :routtab.RSCS V1 (NETSERV,HCXC-LTS@HKUVM)
:node.JPNPNCT1 :routtab.RSCS V2 (NETSERV,UMEKI@JPNPNCT1)
:node.JPNUNU00 :routtab.RSCS V1 (NETSERV,NEGISNO@JPNUNU00)
:node.POLYTECA :routtab.RSCS V1 (NETSERV,MAINT@POLYTECA)
:node.TWNSRRC1 :routtab.JNET (NETSERV,KUOTUNG@TWNSRRC1)
:node.UMTLVR :routtab.JNET (NETSERV,CHICOINE@UMTLVR)
:node.USTHK :routtab.JNET (NETSERV,CCSTEVEN@USTHK)
:node.UTORDOP :routtab.UREP (NETSERV,JOHNCW@UTORDOP)
:node.UTOROCI :routtab.JNET (NETSERV,SYSTEM@UTOROCI)
:node.UTOROCI3 :routtab.JNET (NETSERV,SYSTEM@UTOROCI)
:node.UTOROCI4 :routtab.JNET (NETSERV,SYSTEM@UTOROCI)
Note: for US and some other countries managed by BITNIC the :inform/:info
subscriptions have already been ignored in the past. Therefore
these nodes are not mentioned here.
Thanks and regards, Berthold Pasch
