[bit.listserv.nodmgt-l] Announcing BBoard V1.40

BEN@SPCVXA.BITNET (Ben Cohen) (02/11/90)

This is to announce the release of BBoard, V1.40. BBoard is a program for
VAXs with VAX Notes and Jnet v3.4.

BBoard acts as an interface between incoming Jnet mail and VAX Notes. BBoard
receives mail from LISTSERV-hosted LISTs or Internet mailing lists and posts to
VAX Notes. A control file provides information about the LISTs to which BBoard
is subscribed and is used to determine the Notes conferences that are to be
used.

BBoard can be requested by sending the following command to
VMSSERV@SPCVXA.Bitnet, either by interactive message or as the first text line
in a mail message:

        GET BBOARD.PACKAGE

[For example, you could enter: SEND VMSSERV@SPCVXA GET BBOARD.PACKAGE]

This will send you a set of VMS_SHARE files which must be concatenated (in
order) and then run to split itself into the BBoard files. BBoard is
distributed as source (written in VAX C) and documentation.

If you would like BBoard, but do not have the C compiler, please first
request the package (as shown above). Then send a request to the author
(Ben@SPCVXA.Bitnet) for the .OBJs, providing a Bitnet address to which VMSDUMPs
of the .OBJs can be sent.

Additionally, there is an information list for BBoard, named I-BBoard hosted
at SPCVXA.Bitnet. To be added to the distribution for this list, please send a
mail message to I-BBReq@SPCVXA.Bitnet or I-BBReq@spcvxa.spc.edu.
