The one interesting side-effect of not being an IP network is what happened to the RTM worm. During the crisis, the best source of info (what's going on, how to fix it, how's it going) was from sites that had Bitnet links. Not that we should stay with 9600bps links (eeek!) but variety is a good virus buster.
