Thanks Peter for the explanations... And, of course, the GRIBM EXEC was sent to me last night (I'm AFD-subscribed to the file and it was *just* stored on NETSERV@BITNIC!). I tried the GRIBM EXEC and that runs GR without a problem. :-) One last note: Is there any move to get the value of the :abbr. tag put back into the NETINIT file as a comment? Two or three other informational values are also missing, but the site name seems to be the most helpful.

The :abbr tag is being replaced by the :member tag in the new NODES file format. If you look at the current REQUIRED INFO1 file you will see that :abbr is not longer a required field. The limitation on the length of the :member tag is significantly longer than the :abbr tag so using :member in its place may not give you the desired result. I think we're all going to have to get used to its disappearance. John
