We have recently attempted to install a token-ring adapter in our 8232-1. Formerly there were two ethernet adapters. Only one of the ethernet adapters was removed. The token-ring was assigned to AIX/370 and the remaining ethernet adapter to VM/SP for TCP/IP. On each of our PS/2 TCF cluster machines there is an ethernet adapter and a token-ring adapter. We had to return the 8232 to its original configuration and unplug the token-ring adapter cables due to problems with HP9000 (HPUX 6.2/6.5) systems on our network. We are told this is related to incompatabilities between AIX BSD 4.3 code and BSD 4.2 or older non-AIX systems. Have others experienced this problem? What fix if any is available at this time? We are still on AIX/370 LA F44 and planning an upgrade to F50. Thanks,
