Yes. The Mini and the MG1100 as well as the Austin America shared the same drivetrain. The MG1100 did however, as far as I can recall, used an A-unit engine diplacing 1098cc which was one of the few capacities not used in the Mini. The front suspensions were pretty much the same for both and could be interchanged. Austin Americas were just MG1100s with non-cooper S 1275cc engines (and were also referred to as 1300GTs) I believe both the 1100 and America used Hydrolastic (or "wet") suspensions. A lot of these cars sit in wrecking yards sans engine because this is a popular engine with the non-cooper mini crowd! I haven't seen an 1100 for a while, so I can't say whether the interiors can be mixed or matched at all, but I hope some of this helps. ------- =============================================================================== __----__ Jaguar | Gregory Nagy | "Eat | ___/ ==__===__ {]] 24hrs of | Penn State University| my | //--\---------- 61 | Datyona | Mckeesport Campus | Shorts!" | <-- \__/------------__--| '90 Champs! | GGN100@psuvm.bitnet |-Bart Simpson| ===============================================================================

If they could be interchanged, it would be a source for some excellent disc brakes! -- George Emery - via FidoNet node 1:105/14 UUCP: ...!{uunet!oresoft, tektronix!reed}!busker!4.42!George.Emery ARPA: George.Emery@p42.f4.n105.z1.FIDONET.ORG
