[list.british-cars] Bay Area gathering

Edward Burns <eburns@ads.com> (02/24/90)

Some of the email I tried bounced so I'll post all my notes
about this to the group from now on.

Well, 9 people have contacted me about participating in our "event".

I thought I'd ask you all to let me know what you think of the following:

When: How about the weekend of March 31 - April 1?

Which day: Is Saturday or Sunday better for you?

Where: There was a suggestion about going to Berkeley but a few
of you mentioned that the South Bay was better. In fact,
one person will be coming from Salinas.

What to do: We could meet in the valley and take Hwy. 84 over to
the coast with a stop at the beach. We could make that
our destination or go on. I can offer the use of my
parents' second house just off Hwy. 9 in Brookdale where
we could BBQ and talk cars. From there it's easy to get
back to Hwy. 9, or take Hwy. 17 for a quicker drive home.
We can park 6 or 7 cars off the street there.
I'm totally open to ideas about this.

Please let me know your thoughts about this soon. If we use my
parents' house I'll have to give them some notice. Thanks.

By the way, SO's(God, I hate that term!) are definately welcome.

There's a nice restaurant in Pescadero, Duarte's, that's been a
favorite midway stop for me on Sunday-to-the-beach outings. I'd suggest
we plan a meal/meeting point there, if we're doing a one-day.

Can't make it that weekend, sorry.
(Most weekend events for me are off until I become
independantly wealthy, not real soon now!)
