[rec.arts.startrek.info] Administrivia - Moderator's Change of Site

trek-info@dweeb.fx.com (Jim Griffith) (07/19/90)

Sigh. You may have noticed a prolonged silence from me as of late, only
recently broken by the flood of articles that I just posted. This is due
to the fact that I have left the world of the uneducated and joined the
ranks of the employed. Yes, I've given up my position as a student in
order to attain that most-cherished status of Tax-payer. Accordingly, I've
moved to a new site, namely dweeb.fx.com (I was allowed to name my machine,
much to my employers' dismay).

Anyways, the long delay was due to several factors. First off, I was
called to jury duty, which commenced four days after my employment began
(which was even more of a shock to my employers, who still hadn't gotten
over having a local machine named "dweeb"). Not only that, but the ninnies
(a.k.a. lawyers) decided that I was impartial enough to be on the jury, so
I was selected (it was a federal case, no less - no jokes about "hang the
bastard", please). So that took me away from the land of 0's and 1's for
three weeks. Once I returned, I had my hands full with moving, working,
and generally shaking my head and looking back fondly on the Days of Bread
and Water that constituted my college education (although, I will never
again wake up in the morning, look around my room, and say "what can I sell
today?").

Once I found time in my busy schedule (well, I didn't really, but my
supervisor is out of town this week...), it took me a while to get the
aliases and shellscripts in place to commence moderating from my new site
(due for the most part to the efforts of one Steve "Wild Man" Grady, who has
my undead thanks for his efforts). And the connection to my old site is
tenuous at best, due to one flaky machine and a silly little SLIP line, so
moderating from my old site in the meantime was a haphazard task at best.

But anyways, things are now up and apparently running smoothly. I've
tested the aliases and things look hunky right now. As such, rasi
submissions should now be mailed to "trek-info@dweeb.fx.com" (as is
reflected in the New and Improved Guidelines for Submissions). I encourage
you to test the system by submitting articles containing all kinds of nifty
Star Trek news. Note that I've installed aliases at the old site which
should forward submissions to the appropriate places, so if you mistakenly
mail a submission to the wrong address, never fear - I will get it.

Eventually.

If you have problems submitting articles to the new address, drop a line to
griffith@scam.berkeley.edu, which will get to me fairly quickly, and I will
have Steve look into it.

So now that filming of the fourth season is underway and rasi is once more in
business, all is right with the world. Once again, I apologize for the
interruption, and we now return you to your regularly-scheduled broadcast.

				Jim
