NICHOLS TREKS TO THE STAGE
We beamed up to Toronto for this one. The Associated Press ran into
Nichelle Nichols -- forever Star Trek's Lt. Uhura in our minds --
there, as she opened in a one woman show saluting the likes of Eartha
Kitt, Lena Horne, Pearl Baily and Sarah Vaughan.
Nichols told them that the sci-fi series was fun, but nothing more
than "an interruption in my singing career, a nice interlude.:
Which is not to put down her old buddies from the Starship Enterprise.
"they're still family," she says. What's more, she believes they'll
get together on the big screen one more time for a "Star Trek VI."
