The Radio Times reports: One Last Chance. (BBC Film 1990) Sunday 7th Oct. 9.20 to 10.55pm. This streetwise Screen One comedy is set in London's Greek-Cypriot community. George Jackos (Nick) and Mark Jefferis (Terry) are a couple of gamblers down on their luck. One of them (Nick) decides to get married (the bride, according to custom, comes complete with dowry) so they can flutter away the dowry. Enter Star Trek's Marina Sirtis as the spirited, independent Maria. Nick enlists the help of Maria (a childhood adversary). He soon relises that she is giving him the runaround, Nick retaliates by wooing her. The film is described as "A warm and lively film with a believable script and three strong, unstarry central performances. Director Gabrielle Beaumont makes good use of unusual London locations. In the same issue (6 to 12 Oct 1990) of Radio Times Paul Oldfield has a feature on Marina. -- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Edited by Jim "The Big Dweeb" Griffith - the official scapegoat for r.a.s.i.
