     Paramount Home Video, a video company with an excellent
captioning record, is re-releasing the original "star Trek" series in
1991 on videotape.  The re-release is for the 25th anniversary of
"Star Trek."  The syndicated "Star Trek: The Next Generation"
television series is closed captioned, but the original series has
never before been captioned on either television or videotape.

     In the next few months, Paramount will decide whether or not to
close caption the original "Star Trek" series.  Caption Action has
been told by Paramount that if people write to Paramount and say they
will BUY the "Star Trek" videotape series if it is capitioned,
Paramount probably will decide to caption the original programs.
