"Q[uestion]
Why did the producers of "Star Trek: The Next Generation" hire
bald Patrick Stewart to play Capt. Jean-Luc Picard? Surely by the 24th
century baldness will be cured!
Joseph Catanach, Sant Fe, NM
[Answer]
Rick Berman, the executive producer of the syndicated series,
now in its fourth season, says, "The question is not whether mankind
will find a cure for baldness by the 24th century. Rather, it is
whether we will evolve to the point where mankind is no longer
concerned about baldness. In creating Jean-Luc Picard and casting
Patrick Stewart in the role, we opted for the latter."
The blurb includes a snapshot of Stewart and his wife Shelia. He is
carrying a magazine (something around 'Arts') and wearing a jacket &
tie, and glasses.

QOTD:
Let us say, then, to summarize, that a mythology is an organization of images
conceived as a rendition of the sense of life, and that this sense is to be
experience. As thought mythology approaches -or is a primitive prelude to-
science; and as experience it is precisely art. - Joseph Campbell
