From: Laurence R Brothers <LAURENCE@SU-CSLI.ARPA> Can anyone tell me what conditions would be like if you had a G-type sun in a tight binary with a black hole of similar mass, just close enough for a little of the chromosphere of the sun to be continually eaten by the black hole. WOuld there be weird radiation throughout the system? What would inhabitants of an Earth-analogue planet notice, or is there some reason they wouldn't be around at all. Assume that so little of the chromosphere is being eaten that there is enough time for life to develop on an Earth-type world. Answers to me, I guess, and not the bulletin board. Thanks in advance for any guesses. -Laurence -------
