Latest information from Richard Arnold at the Creation Con over the weekend (2/16 - 2/17) in New York City about the fate of Star Trek VI: (Richard Arnold is the Star Trek Info Handler for Paramount.) Not much has happened in the last few weeks, script revisions had been going slow, and the fate of the movie was in serious doubt. As of Friday, 5pm from California,, the fate of the movie is, IT'S a GO! All doubt is over, the movie WILL be made, a budget has been approved and filming will begin in the early weeks of April for a 9 month production schedule. The release dat of Thanksgiving is gone, at the earliest would be Christmas '91,but early February is much more likely. As for cast assignments and contracts, be ready for a slew of rumors about so and so not signing and may not appear in the film, but Richard stated that these rumors appeared for all the films, and Paramount has never failed to get the cast signed aboard... so don't take any too seriously. Richard also said what we already know, Nicholas Meyers is directing, producing and writing the script, etc... And now a minor spoiler about one of the characters outcomes in STVI: <Hit 'n' now to abort.> I mean it. Last chance... O.K. You asked for it: Sulu finally gets command of his own ship. (Hurray.)
