Thanks to all who responded to my 1084 problem. Instead of shipping it to commodore, I took it down to Creative Computers in Ventura. (It's about a 45 minute drive from here) I described the problem to the guy and he said "Does it come back on when you hit it?" "Yeah, it does" "Sounds like broken solder connections; happens a lot." He said that if I knew how to solder I could fix it myself, and he started telling me where the PC board was. I guess he could tell I wasn't too thrilled with the idea of soldering the thing back in, and braving the 50KV capacitor. So he said "Look, I'll solder it right now for you for 20 bucks" So he did. :) All the local TV reapir shops (no local CBM dealer) wanted $135 to just look at it. In short, I was impressed with Creative.
