I've recently opened my A500 (the warranty was expired anyway), and I noticed that there are 4 spaces between the RAM chips that appear to be for additional RAM chips... the motherboard also says 512K/1 Meg. If 256Kx4 chips were put in the empty spots, would it be functional? That is, would the system recognize the extra RAM as well as the 512K in my A501 clone? I seem to recall someone mentioning this in c.s.a before... Also, if it works, what are the chances of getting a dealer to put the chips in for me? (The thought of soldering chips to my motherboard makes me more than a little nervous) Any ideas on cost? One more question: I want to know if I've got the 1 Meg Agnus... What are the numbers on top of the new one as opposed to the older ones?
