I was able to get my hands on a free C= 2Meg Expansion card with no RAM or sockets installed. Someone had gotten the cards and removed all the RAM from them. I spent last weekend installing socket and the RAM from my Startboard II. Well, after I fixed the trace I damaged during the soldering process and plugged it into my 2000, it caused a GURU on power up. The error was 8100009.xxxx which I think is something like "freed memory for second time") ?????. I also heard that the boards might have originally had some dip resistors on the back and figured that they must have been to tie the RAM's data bus to +5V through a pullup resistor of some kind. I installed some 1K pullups to the 2 74F245 chips on the side that goes to the RAMs. This kept my 2000 from crashing, but the extra RAM was still not recognized. Does anyone have this card in use? Is there some special command I need to send during the startup-sequence to recognize the extra RAM or should it autoconfigure. Also, could you tell me if my assumption for the placement of the pullup resistors is correct and how the four jumper pins on the bottom left are used. PS The place I got the card still has more if anyone is interested. He told me that he would sell them for $25. +--------------------------------------------------------------------------+ | // AA M M I GGGGGG AA | | Parker J.
