I have been thinking about using a 1.2Meg 5 1/4" drive in a 2000. What I would like to do is be able to read an IBM format 1.2Meg 5 1/4" disk. The question that I would like answered is what hardware do I need to do it. If I buy a 1.2Meg drive can I hook it up and use something like MSH or CrossDos? Do I need a bridge card? Thanks for any help! -- Jerry Williams @ Evans & Sutherland 560 Arapeen Drive, SLC, Utah 84108 UUCP Addresses: {ihnp4,ucbvax,allegra,decvax}!decwrl!esunix!jwilliam ihnp4!utah-cs!esunix!jwilliam usna!esunix!jwilliam esunix!jwilliam@cs.utah.edu (Internet)

In order to read a 1.2M 5-1/4" floppy on the Amiga, you need a different disk controller. I presume you could do this with a BridgeBoard, but haven't a clue as to how. You certainly can NOT do this just by plugging the device in, because of the Amiga's disk controller (such as it is) limitations. -- Mike Farren farren@well.sf.ca.usa
