I've again lost the list of self-test colors and what they mean. If someone could send them to me, I'd be very appreciative. Hints on repairing an A1000 which refuses to display the Kickstart screen, but plays the happy tune would also be met with gratitude. It occasionally asks for Kickstart, but has a hell of a time reading it in (many, many seeks and gronks). I have tested both the drive and the Kickstart disk and they are known good. On even rarer occasions in which Kickstart is read successfully, I either get success with Workbench or a puke green screen and a reboot. Non-deterministic failures give me the willies. I only have one spare 8520R2, and have tried it in both sockets in all possible permutations with the existing 8520's. The failure mode stays basically the same, with variations on the probability of reading Kickstart which may be my imagination. --Rick --- Rick Sayre "Use more honey; ucbvax!pixar!whorfin find out what she knows"
