1) Does anybody have a spare 68010 that they would sell me cheap? Would sticking it in my Amiga 1000 make a difference in performance at all? 2) Where is a good place to buy Amiga (or third party stuff for Amiga) hardware? I am a student if that makes a difference. A number or address to get catalogs from would be appriciated. -Devin

The difference between the two processors is very small. The 68010 executes some math instructions in fewer cycles, and has a 3 word loop-back cache. Overall you will get a 5% performance increase. Since your computer spends most of its time waiting anyway, particularly editors for example, you will never notice it. Even a 50% performance increase would be hard to notice. Disk I/O with non-DMA devices will increase by about 20%. That a good plus. > 2) Where is a good place to buy Amiga (or third party stuff for Amiga) > hardware? I am a student if that makes a difference. Support your local dealer, and your dealer will support you. Go talk to one, and ask him if he doesn't have a special pricing policy for poor students like you. You might charm one into giving you a break. Valentin -- The Goddess of democracy?
