Thanks to all who set me straight about video signals, and in my defense I can only say that I'm not an engineer, and know practically nothing about video and its transmission. For those as benighted as I, a cable tuner does not produce a signal usable by composite monitors; you'll need to run the signal through a tuner with composite output (such as a VCR) to watch TV on your Amiga's monitor.
