For my frind: --------------------------------------------------------------- Dear Mr. Zorro I've tried to install 1Mb chipmem on my Amiga 500 V1.3 Rev6A. I've placed sockets in the four free places on the motherboard and changed JP2 so that it's connected to the upper pad and cut the lower. At first I connected JP7A to the upper pad and cut the lower, but the computer seemed to reset constantly and the workbench hand never showed up. (and that was with or without chips in the sockets) Then I cut the upper pad too (on JP7A) and it worked perfectly without chips. With the chips the hand came up, but the computer was unable to boot the disk and a few pixels were wrong (probably the agnus blitter was disturbed, and that would explain why the computer can't boot the disk). Is it possible to install 1Mb chipmem (or half a Mb of each) like this? Are there any special restrictions for the chips (like speed...)? How should I do exactly (Jumpers etc.)? Plesase, answer to my E-Mail: nv89-rbi@nada.kth.se
