Someone mentioned a couple of weeks ago that if anyone found a good source of cheap ZIPs we should post... At AmiEXPO we ended up getting those ZIPs for the A2630 board at a good price. At the time their current price (not the show special) was $12 per chip for a 256X4 ZIP package, either 100 ns or 80 ns (100 ns will do fine.) The dealers were a place called Memory World, 2476 Craydon Ct., Bensalem PA 19020. (215)741-6225, Mon-Sat 10-6. They seemed reasonable (we talked with Bradford Goren.) I guess you could get them via the compuserve gateway, at 75216.204@compuserve.com. The guy DID WARN that they were low on stock of the ZIPs and weren't sure when they'd have more... but they seemed the type that would try to find them. I asked whether any of their chips were used, like the Kruger Company apparently has. The guy answered that the only used chips he sells were the ones that were so old and slow that he couldn't get them new any more, such as 150 ns parts (and that no, the ZIPs are new.) Just a customer. -- Robin LaPasha |Keeper of the Amiga ruslan@ecsvax.uncecs.edu |Hypermedia Mailing List
