Many people have asked me for more information on the Konica drive in
terms of specs and such. Here is more information. For those who do
not recall, or who missed the earlier posting, I am selling a
Konica KT-510 SCSI 10.7MB Capacity Half-Height Floppy Disk Drive. I am
asking $650 plus postage (or best reasonable offer) for the drive and 10
(ten) 10.7MB diskettes (I need money for a genlock for my amiga).
The drive has the following Specs:
480tpi storage (10.7MB)
(also reads/writes 96tpi and 48tpi 5.25 disks)
block size 512 bytes
30 blocks per track
700 tracks per disk
350 cylinders per disk
Read/Write head with 26 micro-inch gap
recording density of 18K flux changes per inch
MFM Encoding
2 read/write heads (1 per disk side)
track-to-track access (including settling time) 20 miliseconds
maximum access time 120 milliseconds
average access time 75 milliseconds
spindle motor speed 600 rpm
average latency 50 milliseconds
maximum start time (to calibrate new disk) 1 second
start time from standby 700 milliseconds
autoconfigure/recognition of inserted disk's density
interleave 1
skew factor 120 degrees
Half-height case (1.62 inches)
Standard SCSI interface
automatic defect mapping when formatting
automatic retry on error
sustained transfer rate 1.6 Mbits/sec
burst transfer rate 1.2 Mbits/second
Hope this helps.
