Sounds like a loose capacitor. Wack the monitor on the side, you might convince
it to stop, just like you wack a kid who whines to much. My old 1080 whines
from time to time, and a good beating sometimes straightens it up. This type of
problem usually happens long after the monitor has been put in service. With
time and heat, a certain capacitor is likely to loosen up and start vibrating
at 15KHz. Rather annoying to people with normal hearing, but totally harmless
to foot-loose teenagers. :-)

Why muck around?  If it didn't work correctly when you received it, insist on
one that does.  If it used to work, insist that it be repaired or replaced,
that's why there are warranty cards and all that good stuff in the box...
