Greetings !!! After reading about the max transfer rate problem with the GVP hardcard, I thought I'd give the fix a go. Using Sectorama off ff108 I changed the appropriate value and wrote the RDB back. Sectorama calculates checksums, so I wrote that back as well. Note as is, the checksum of the RDB was wrong anyway. Well using diskperf & diskspeed I gave the fixed partition a whirl and :- Speed ----- UnFixed Partition 155k/sec Fixed 282k As you can see, major improvements !!! BTW, the disk is a NEC D3841 (43Mb) 28ms seek time, 937k tranfer rate. I then wondered how rad: would compare to these rates rad: (old FS) 138k rad: (FFS) 989k ram: 751k I s'pose these result's explain why the file system was updated. Anyway, one thousand "thank you"'s to whoever posted the fix. "May Santa put an A3000 under your tree this year" Kevin.
