I need some assistance with parallel port joystick adaptors:
1) Is there a standard for these adaptors?

I built an A500/A2000 adaptor according to a Usenet posting a few
months ago, but it doesn't work.
The original posting was for Gauntlet II, but when this adaptor was
plugged into an A500 with TV Sports Basketball, no signals from the
extra joysticks appear to be recognized.
I don't know if it is a software or hardware problem???!

2) Where can I find more info about joystick adaptors? Maybe I could
design one?
3) Has anyone been able to get a parallel joystick adaptor working with
TV Sports Basketball?
4) I'm doing this for a friend with an A500, I have an A2500 myself (and no
TV Sports Basketball), but both these Amigas ought to have the same
configuration as far as joystick adaptors are concerned, is that correct?
