[comp.sys.amiga.hardware] Flicker-Stopper from C=

jim@syteke.be (Jim Sanchez) (07/18/90)

I have heard from a couple of dealers over here that C= will be
announcing a "flicker fixer (TM somebody I bet)" type of product
before too long (before end of year). As I was told, this is NOT
the ECS stuff but rather a card to fit into the video slot of the
2000 and provide scan rate doubling. It is supposed to support all
the fancy new video modes of the ECS and be much cheaper too. I
would normally pass off such stuff as wishful thinking but I noticed
that MicroWay just reduced the price of the Flicker Fixer by $100
and that lends credibility to the rumor(in my book anyway). Anyone
else heard a similiar story?

I have also heard that Commodore will be releasing a "flickerFIXER"-like card
called the DVE (can't quite remember what that stands for--perhaps something
like "De-interlace video enhancer"?).

There hasn't been any firm rumor on when the DVE card will be released, but my
guess is that it will be available some time near the release of 2.0.
