I talked to A-Squared today. The bottom line is that the person I talked to (nice guy) admitted that there is a problem: "Probably a timing problem". Not surprising. Then I asked if a fix was in the works. I have no problems paying to have my Live! card "upgraded" to work with the 3000. It's worth it to me. He said that the person I needed to talk to was at Siggraph this week. He mentioned that they were bouncing various ideas around at the moment. They wanted to wait until there was a number of 3000's out there (6 months). I made several suggestions, including a 32bit bus (ZorroIII) version of the Live!. He replied "Gee, HAM would be pretty easy to do then". Needless to say, don't expect a fix any time soon. I'm sending them a letter outlining my various suggestions to improve the Live!. A ZorroIII version of a Live!, with a suitably updated Invision Plus could probably give the infamous Video Toaster a run for the money. And it would be cheaper, and work with consumer grade equipment. Oh well. I guess the 3000 purchase can wait. --hal -- hgm@ccvr1.cc.ncsu.edu "I'm _not_ looser than clams!" netoprhm@ncsuvm.bitnet Zoogz Rift _Interim Resurgence_
