I have a question that I hope someone can answer for me. I own a Sun 386i with a 14' color monitor. I want to get an Amiga and was wondering if it is possible to hook up the Sun monitor (I think it's a Sony) to the Amiga. I talked to an Amiga dealer in my area and he said I need to find out what speed the sun monitor can be dirven at since the Amiga drives monitors at 15.75 Khz. has anyone ever tried something like this? Is there other problems I need to worry about? I would welcome any information. Carl Mercer ..!rochester!cci632!cm

It was just a simple slip of the shift key.) >wondering if it is possible to hook up the Sun monitor (I think it's a Sony) >to the Amiga. The 14" monitor for the 386i scans at 48 khz. It won't work with the amiga, even with a flickerfixer. It should work with one of the newest non-interlaced "SUPER VGA" 1024 x 768 cards for the AT bus. art walker roadman@portia.stanford.edu

The Sun monitors have a vertical rate of 66 Hz, and a horizontal rate of around 51 KHz. -larry -- Sex is better than logic, but I can't prove it. +-----------------------------------------------------------------------+ | // Larry Phillips | | \X/ lphillips@lpami.wimsey.bc.ca -or- uunet!van-bc!lpami!lphillips | | COMPUSERVE: 76703,4322 -or- 76703.4322@compuserve.com | +-----------------------------------------------------------------------+

I am interested in hooking up some 1280x800 mono monitors to my machine (2500/30). One is the Amdek 1280 and the other is the Xerox 2-page display.
