I've been reading in the British computer mags about a new company (New ..something.. technologies, I can lookup exact name and address if anyone's interested, anyway..) with a line of plug-it-in-the-68000-socket 68020 and 68030 daughter boards for the A500/A2000 line. The first advert of theirs I saw was for a 16Mhz 68020 card with 1 MB of memory (and sockets for an additional 3MB) for 349 Pounds. This is just a little over DM1000, which is a damn good deal considering that just a couple of megabytes of memory will cost you at least DM500 these days (often more like DM600). So for around DM400-500 more, you get a whole new processor running 2Mhz faster than MAST's offering. Good deal, says I, warming up my checkbook. But wait! The next magazine I read also shows 25Mhz _68030_ accellerators as well for around 700 Pounds. More expensive, sure, but maybe those costs will come down. Either way, it's the first A2500/A3000 style expansion I've seen for my lowly A500 that doesn't cost 3 arms and 2 legs. My question: Does *anyone* have experience with either of the two? I'm very seriously considering the 68020, as it's pretty much as far as I want to go with the A500, with a waffling eye towards the 68030 too (after all, it is a bit tempting). Any information I can get will help me with the dileama of what to get. If there's interest, I will summarize all replies.
