Does anybody have any experience with the FireBall harddisks from MAST? I would like to know how they compare to GVP or Supra harddisks. I know they use Fujitsu(?) instead of Quantum drives. Do they have any problems, or any incompatibilities with other Amiga hardware? How good are the accompanying drivers and other software. Is it true that they can also be used with a Macintosh? I would like to know some more before I lay down DM 1100,- for one. Thanks, Frits -- Frits Kuijlman (frits @ duttnph.tudelft.nl)

A chance to comment on M.A.S.T. I bought a 90Mb and Fireball from the american office in Nevada, (who use the Australian office's credit card services which cause problems in currency exchange: $90 too much). The disk and card come separatly so you have to mount the disk on the card for a hard- card. Apparently, I didn't push the cable in far enough and with return post- age and phone calls, the thing has cost me an extra $30 so far to say nothing of the fact that they dropped the price $50 from the August Amiga World to the September issue. I bought this thing on August 6 and still don't have a working disk drive. Oh, and it won't autoboot with an A2088 bridgeboard, but new firm- ware is coming, of course you'll have to pay for it. Oh, you want to cancel and get your money back? Well, that will cost you a 3% re-stocking charge. And by the way, even though you have a warranty, you are responsible for all shipping charges. These little tidbits only came to light after the sale. Frankly, I don't know whether the M.A.S.T drives are any good or not but given my experience so far I can't recommend doing business with them. This is my opinion only and should not be construed as representing anyone but myself.
