HHHHHHHEEEEEEELLLLLLPPPPPPPP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My problem is this. I bought an A1000 sometime ago as a second to my A500. Well i got my A100 as one of the used machines available after the trade in program by Comodore. THe problem is that the keyboard, which is an A2000 keyboard, locks up after a short time of operation. The weird part about this whole thing is that one of my friends bought a 1000 from the same store with thesame keyboard adaptor and everything, his machines keyboard never locks up at all. Then after it {_got dropped by someone else it started to lock up even worse than mine. Well we opened it and found a gray metal part, which I assume to be a timing crystal of some sort, had broken one of its solder joints. upon resoldering this joint the keyboard continues to work with out a hitch. Well I opened mine thinking Great I know whats wrong. As near as I can tell there are no broken joints on my keyboard. Does anyone out there have any idea's as to what is wrong. The local company said that my keyboard is alot newer than my friends. Can this have something to do with it? Some kind of timing problem? Now the symptoms: When the keyboard locks up nothing more gets to the machine. Often the caps lock light will come on and stay on. un plugging the keyboard from the back of the machine and letting it sit for awhile and then plugging it back in fixes the problem until it locks up again. It never locks up right at first it alwasys takes awhile. Does this mean Heat damage? ANY AND ALL HELP will be greatly appriciated!!!! Joshua SLMT9@cc.usu.edu
