[comp.sys.amiga.hardware] Flickering video

ianr@mullian.ee.mu.OZ.AU (Ian ROWLANDS) (09/29/90)

I just bought a 2000 last month. I seem to have a problem with the
video display whenever I power-up the machine. Usually for about 10-15
minutes after power-up, I get random lines that flicker and 'move' the screen.
It's quite annoying, not to mention what it does for the eyes! It sometimes
occurs later on, but 90% of the time it occurs when it has just been turned
on.

Can anybody suggest anything? My set-up is a 2000 Rev 6.2 board,
1084S C= monitor, GVP 8-up controller, 80Mb HD + 2Mb extra ram (if it matters
at all).

I too have seen this problem, but I saw it on an Amiga 3000 and 1950
Multisynchronous monitor. It does not seem to be the similar problem seen
in early 'developer' 3000's (in that they were noisy, and caused video
jitter when the drives/audio ran). Ours too seems to go away after warm-up.
Please summarize any information you recieve.
