[comp.sys.amiga.hardware] Problems with A500

barnes@uicbert.eecs.uic.edu (Craig Barnes) (10/09/90)

I have an amiga that shows a yellow screen when it boots. I know that
that means that this is an exception error but I would like
to know what I should I be looking for inorder to fix it? Any
ideas would help. Thank you,

Twisting the Amiga's case often helps in this type of situation.
This isn't a by-the-book technique to be sure... Apparently, the
left-right twisting action "re-seats" the Fat Agnus chip in it's
socket.... although the proper way is to pull the Agnus out and
then re-insert it. This may not relate to your problem at all,
but many boot-up difficulties can be overcome by "the twist".

BTW, a special tool is needed to remove the Agnus without
damaging it or the socket... good luck.
