I have an Amiga 2000 with the ICD SCSI controller board and the Syquest 44meg removable drive. The card has an option where when the machine is rebooted (with the three finger salute) or initially turned on you can hold down the mouse buttons to bypass the hard drive (and the initial 8 second hard drive warm up pause) and boot straight from floppy immediately. This worked just fine until I installed a 1 meg Agnus in my machine. After that, the bypass sort of "works" but usually does not give me any video signal. the screen remains white although the program boots and functions normally. However, if the program changes into HAM mode, the screen suddenly comes to life. The screen comes on just fine when I allow the card to boot normally without bypassing the pause time. What is going on? The only reason I know the programs under the white screen boot normally is that if I bott a game or such program, the music and sound effects come on and I can hear things happening behind my blank screen! This is really irritating! -- (* /// ( demo freak ) *) (* \\\tinger { mhenders@hydra.unm.edu } *) (* /// ( computer hypocondriac ) *)
