[comp.sys.amiga.hardware] GVP Series II problems

bard@jessica.stanford.edu (David Hopper) (10/12/90)

I have a friend who just purchased the new GVP Series II card with 4 megs of
memory and a 40-meg drive. We can't seem to get the thing up and running.
Basically, it's as if the machine doesn't recognize the card at all. No mem-
ory, no drive, no nuthin'.

The manual hasn't been helpful at all (it is VERY skeletal). The formatting
software included will not run, as it cannot load the gvpscsi.device which,
for some reason, was not included on the disk. It also seems to need the
autoboot jumper on, which we cannot do as we still have 1.2 in the machine.

So: is the new Series II ONLY an autobooting beast? Could someone perhaps
give us some hints, or maybe the GVP customer support number (this, also, was
left out of the manual). At least, it seems, the memory should be recognized.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
