I have been once again trying to format a hard drive. This time I am trying to make many partitions of size <40M. The problem is that the fourth partition always causes a guru when formatting. No matter whether it is on the last cylinder, halfway through or whereever it is always the fourth partition. All mountlist entries are identical except for the high and low cylinder numbers. The system is an A2000, A2090a controller and Fujitsu 2249SA hard drive (328Mb) with 1.3 Roms. Hard drive problems aside, why in the world would the format command guru? Isn't there any concept of graceful death? -- Kevin Picott aka Socrates
