I have a JX100 scanner and ASDG's ScanLab 100 software. It was all working while in the U.S. but after transportation to Australia there is a problem. The software reports the firmware version and the scanner moves as you would expect for the various resolution options. However no image is produced (as I said it worked in the U.S.) except occasionally I just get a white bar at the left edge of the image. The question I have is does the scanner self test? Would the ASDG software report hardware problems if they were severe enough? (My manual is still in transit from the U.S.) The scanner will probably need to be serviced now regardless of the problem but if it would report anything serious (no image could be considered serious) I might have a poke around for loose wires. Might the light sensor have been damaged by X-rays going through customs? Thanks for any help.
