I would like to know how people have installed A500 hard disks on A1000s. I am asking this as a dealer here in Australia is offering really cheap 40 meg GVP hard disks (with 4 Meg SIMMS RAM) for the A590. I am aware that to use this hard disk I would have to reverse the drive and have the drive propped up with a book or something to get it to plug into the A1000 bus expansion slot. 1) Does anyone know of an easy way to get around this ? (No, I _DON'T_ want to sell my A1000!!!) 2) Does GVP sell a version of this hard disk for the A1000 ? (Yes, I KNOW C= has DROPPED the A1000 line, which &%$#%$ me off!!) 3) By how much can you extend the expansion bus without introducing errors due to increased capacitance etc, as I _may_ want to make a cable that extends the bus (a last resort!) ? 4) If none of the above questions yield effective solutions, then WHO sells good (FAST) hard disks for the A1000 line ?.
