Couple of A2630 questions:
1.) The A2630 comes with two 64-pin connectors (CN300 and CN301) intended
for an additional 32 bit memory expansion board. Did Commodore ever
come out with such a board? (my local dealer hasn't heard of it yet).
If not, do you know if Commodore (or any 3rd party vendor) has plans
to produce such a card in the near (say 6 mos) future? I am planning
on purchasing a Video Toaster soon and they suggest a minimum of 5 meg
(my current configuration) but suggest 7 meg (for using large brushes
in Toaster Paint). I would prefer to purchase 32 bit memory over
16 bit memory, but if I can't add 32 bit memory to the A2630 card that
leads me to ...
2.) If I instead add 16 bit memory, what speed of ram chips is suggested
and how much slower will things run once the system starts accessing
16 bit memory? My main concern here is raytrace rendering time
(Sculpt 4D & Imagine). I realize that the 32 bit memory is used up
first and that the 68882 is doing most of the work here, but do you
have a ball-park figure on the impact of 16 bit ram?
3.) How much of an increase in speed (i.e. reduction in rendering time)
could I expect if I went from the 25 MHz 68882 (FPU) to a 33 MHz 68882
and crystal? (Would it be 33MHz/25MHz or 1.32 times as fast?) A ball-
park figure is fine.
Thanks a lot for your time and expertise.
