[comp.sys.amiga.hardware] Accelerating the 68000 to 14MHz

syedaj@kcl-cs.UUCP (El Zorro) (11/27/90)

I am trying to speed up my Amiga for as little money as possible. I have
a spare 68000P12 which I want to put into my Amiga. I also want to 'up'
the clock speed (of course). Does this have to be synchronised to the
7.15 MHz clock or can I run it at any speed? I want to run it at 12-14MHz
ideally. I know that doubling the clock speed will only give about 10%
extra performance, but something is better than nothing! I was initially
thinking of using the main 28MHz osc. and then using a T-type flip flop
to halve the frequency to 14MHz. Will this work?? Any help will be greatly
appreciated. Please reply using EMAIL only. If you can't get through using
the above address please try: ZDAC158@UK.AC.KCL.CC.OAK

Thankz.
