This is a question for all of you people out there that Know about Hard Drives. I just bought a CDC Wren III hard drive. I have it attached to my amiga and everything is going fine. except, isn't there always an except!, anyway I can not get My Hard drive to park. I have it partitioned into two 40 Meg partitions and when I try to park either of them I get an error message saying ' Drive Return Error -1' Well I can find no documentation on park. Hey, do these things happen to be autoparking ? It is a full height 5.25 drive. I can Use any and all help that you can give me. Thanks, Joshua SLMT9@cc.usu.edu

I have it partitioned into two 40 Meg Don't worry, the Wren III not only auto-parks on power-down, it also locks the heads. You can hear an audible click during the power up sequence, that's the head lock being released. -- Blaine Gardner @ Evans & Sutherland 580 Arapeen Drive, SLC, Utah 84108 blgardne%javelin@dsd.es.com ...dsd.es.com!javelin!blgardne (I hope) {decwrl, utah-cs}!esunix!blgardne DoD #0046 My other motorcycle is a Quadracer. In-Reply-To: message from slmt9@cc.usu.edu Yes indeed you hit the nail on the head. The WREN-III hard drive that you mention is indeed autoparking. When the drive is first powered up, the heads will move when the platters reach full speed. When the drive is powerd down the heads will auotmaticaly park. The unit has some sort of a mehanical governer in it to do this. This is probaly why you get an error message when you try to do it from software.
