A friend of mine sent off for information on it; I don't know much about it,
but I don't need to, because in practice the knowledge isn't useful. Reason:
the folks who make it charge an enormous fee for it (and that's for educational
institutions).

The people who make it charge an enormous fee for it?

If you think $500,- is an enormous fee for a Pascal and C-compiler
for VAX,PDP,68000 and 8086 plus some other goodies and comparitive
ease of adding other compilers you must be on a very tight budget.

By the way, this must be a subjective statement, since I am one of
the authors.

How does one obtain this miraculous "Amsterdam Compiler Kit"?

Is there any further write up (in net.lang or net.lang.{c,pas} maybe)?

Re fees for the Amsterdam Compiler Kit: I stand corrected, it appears.
The information that my roommate received mentioned ONLY

	a $10,000 fee for a commercial license
a similar fee (I am operating from faulty memory, and hence
don't recall the exact amount) plus 30% royalty for
		OEMs

No educational fee was mentioned.
