I would appreciate it if someone could give me some information on a TC514256P-12 256Kx4 memory chip. I had someone work on my computer some time ago, and I suspect that he swapped a memory chip on me, for some unknown reason. All of my other chips are KM44C256AP-10 895C 256Kx4's. I purchased all of my chips from one location, so that is why I suspect the swap. I should also mention that I discovered the swap when I was tracking down the loss of 512K on my BaseBoard after this person did some work--I discovered that the chip in question is faulty, or at least won't work with the other chips. Specifically, if someone could tell me if mixing 100ns and 120ns chips could be the cause of the memory loss I would be appreciative. Also, a friend of mine said that the chip in question could be a ZIP. Could this be true? I am a business major, and my knowledge of electronics is amateurish at the very best, so please speak down to me. ;) Please respond by mail because our news feed is down for a while (I am posting this through the mail server at Berkeley). ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Kurt Krueger | BITNET: KKRUEGER@UNOMA1 | //\ MBA student | Internet: KKRUEGER@ZEUS.UNOMAHA.EDU | \X/--\ M I G A ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Old soldiers never die--young ones do. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------
