First, you need to put the hddisk.device icon from the Expansion drawer of
your 2090 Installation disk into the Expansion drawer of your
SYS: partition of your hard disk.

This step is required only if you are reformatting your 2090 hard drive.
Is this your intention ?

if so now you have to use PREP from your 2090 disk.
(not prod_prep!!!!)

Remember to run NOFASTMEM, then binddrivers. This prevents
any of the 2090s buffers from getting into the 32 bit memory,
which it can't handle.

You need to run PREP first; then reboot the system before continuing,
as it says in the manual.

After running PREP and rebooting, you can format the first partition,
(or ignore it as you should leave it as a single cylinder)
and construct the mountlist for the remaining partition.

Try this for your partition entry:

DISK1:
    Device = hddisk.device
    Mask = 0x00fffffc
    Unit   = 2
    Flags  = 0
    Surfaces  = 6
    BlocksPerTrack = 17
    Reserved = 2
    LowCyl = 3  ;  HighCyl = 1000
    Buffers = 30
    DosType = 0x444F5301
    Mount = 1
    BufMemType = 2

	You have to run binddrivers (it's normally in the startup-sequence)
before trying to reference the drive (but after using NoFastmem!) As you
surmised, you also need hddisk.device in your expansion drawer (and it's
icon!) It's on the disk that came with the 2090 originally.

	NAK! prod_prep is a dangerous tool, you can blow away an entire
drive and it's data fooling with it (and it's not user-friendly). It doesn't
do any good with 2090's: only 590/2091/3000's.

	You're looking for Prep, which also came on the disk with the 2090.
If the drives are set up already, you shouldn't need to prep them.
