[comp.sys.amiga.hardware] How to hook Nintendo controllers to the Amiga

erd@giza.cis.ohio-state.edu (Ethan R Dicks) (01/25/91)

If you want to hook Nintendo type controllers up to the Amiga, go out and
get the premier issue of AC/Tech my Amazing Computing. There is an article
for hooking up the Mattel Power Glove to the Amiga. The adapter cable
and software work perfectly fine with other types of controllers.

Beware: the adapter cable is made from a Nintendo extension cable (as a source
of a female Nintendo plug). The extension cable can be a *bitch* to find.
I spent hours on the phone trying to find someone in town who had even heard
it. I never did. I found a WalMart in a neighboring city who did have them.
(WalMart is the place the author recommends)

Good Luck,
-ethan

PS The adapter uses an AmigaDOS application, so this only works on games
which do not take all of memory or take over the machine. It is a hardware
and software solution, not strictly hardware. Caveat Emptor
