I wonder if anyone can help me with a problem I'm having connecting an analog Thompson multisync to my A500. I built a cable with the Amiga 23 pin D connector on one end and the analog 25 pin D on the other end. I used the pinouts which came with my monitor and also referenced the Amiga manual for it's pin outs. I'm sorry I can't display my actual wiring diagram because I left that info back at home but I do remember the functions of the pins which I connected :
Red
Red ground
Green
Green ground
Blue
Blue ground
Horizontal sync
Vertical sync
Sync ground
Now the problem is this. When I turn on the system with the cable plugged into the Amiga, the system does not boot (I have a single drive system). The drive light doesn't even go on though the screen does flick through a couple of colors before going completely black. Then I unplugged the monitor cable from the computer and restarted the system. The system seemed to boot fine without the monitor plugged in. I then plugged the monitor into the system WHILE the system was ON (I know that's not cool but
a mans gotta do what a mans gotta do) and IT WORKED FINE!!! Are there any connections I'm missing??? I have a feeling that it'snot getting past one of the self tests but I don't know why.
Any hints would really be appreciated.
